Goldtraminer – Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT

Caratteristiche

Grape variety

Goldtraminer (Cross-pollination Rigotti 84-11), is a grape variety originally obtained in 1947 by the researcher Rebo Rigotti by cross-pollinating Gewürztraminer and Trebbiano Toscano. Rediscovered in recent years by Cantina Toblino, thanks to a collaborative experimentation in conjunction with Fondazione Edmund Mach (Istituto di San Michele all’Adige).

Vineyards

coming from the vineyards of Az Agr Toblino Bio Certified located in the plains of the river Sarca and cultivated using guyot method.

Vinification & Aging

after crushing-destemming, the grapes are pressed and vinified in reduction, or in the absence of oxygen to preserve their aromatic characteristics. A prolonged refinement in steel and a few months in the bottle follows.

Organoleptic characteristics

golden yellow in color. On the nose, it is aromatic, intense and fragrant, reminiscent of overly ripe fruits and flowers. On the palate, Goldtraminer is pleasantly sweet, round, fresh with long aromatic persistency.

Tasting & Pairing

best served in small tulip shaped wine glasses at a temperature of 8-10°C. It is a perfect wine to accompany any kind of dessert from traditional ones to more creative examples. For contrast, it pairs well with blue cheeses or flavorsome mature cheeses served together with chutney or honey.
